Forget Me Not Catalina Cove edition by Brenda Jackson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

  • "Forget Me Not" is the second book in the Catalina Cove Series and I found it to be interesting and solid all at the same time. I like Catalina Cove and all the beauty that Brenda Jackson described it to be. I would love to explore the town for myself; the way the author describes it, I can picture the businesses, the people, and the blueberry muffins constantly mentioned throughout the book. This book was great and I was like a lot of readers anticipating this book becoming available. I enjoyed reading about Ashley the most. The strength it took to try to move on from losing your husband and then finding out he was not dead, had got too difficult to comprehend and understand not having your man in your life. Ray aka Devon was an interesting character to say the least. If I am honest, I could not fully invest in him. He was more of a character I could not figure out. Who was he really? He seemed more well rounded as Devon than as Ray, being that Ray was more of someone he was given to be since he lost his memory. Devon needed an anchor and Ray was born. In my opinion, the women are the glue that is holding this series together. Vashti, Ashley, and hopefully Bryce are the balance that is keeping me interested in finishing the series out. Their stories so far are very fascinating to me. I was even hoping that Vashti's life would have ventured into this one, just to tie everything up since I did not feel like her story (book one) was concluded. The plot for Ray and Ashley was simpler in style. I thought there was going to be more drama, but it was not. Some readers probably would object to this. They did have a lot of sex that could have gotten dull and mediocre. I was fine with it since the author spaced it out going into details and not in certain sections. Overall, I liked this book and possibly could read Kaegan and Bryce's story. My only concern is this rift between them will it be something serious or just stupid, trivial drama? We shall see!
  • Ms Jackson has done it again. The Ray/Devon & Ashley story was so touching. Ashley found love again with her husband that she believed had died in a car accident. He had lost his memory and had no recollection of their love and marriage. Getting him to fall in love with her again was beautiful. This one is a must read. Thanks again Brenda Jackson for sharing your superb stories with your readers.
  • I love small town romances and Brenda Jackson's Catalina Cove series doesn't disappoint. Her characters are warm and real, her sex scenes scorch the page, and the happily ever after is satisfying and heartfelt.
In Forget Me Not, Ashley's husband died in a tragic accident and his body was never recovered. When she goes to Catalina Cove to try to finally move on, she meets a man who looks remarkably like the man she's trying to get over.
Ray has amnesia because of a brutal carjacking, but has made a new life for himself in Catalina Cove. He's oddly attracted to a new woman in town, but can't act on it because his memory might come back revealing a wife and family.
Once Ashley decides Ray is Devon, her missing husband, she has a real dilemma. Can she make him fall in love with her again? Can she accept him, even if his memory never returns? His doctor has cautioned her not to tell him who he really is and he is almost a different man now in terms of lifestyle.
I loved this book and will definitely read the next book in the series.
  • Waking up one day not knowing who you are or who you belong to can be devastatingly painful, frustrating and scary. It’s the backdrop of this beautiful love story written by Brenda Jackson of a couple who lost love but finds it again. Once Devon, now Ray, Ashley finds the man she once loved and has to reestablished a relationship that only she knows existed. This story is full of newly discovered friendships, relationships and a rekindled love. It’s beautifully written as seen through both a man who doesn’t know his old life but has built a new special one thats fulfilling and content and also through a woman who’s deeply in the love with her past that she tries to come to the realization that the love she had may not be again. But hope is all they both have and it will determine a future they both crave. It all hinders on memory. You will definitely enjoy this story and how finding love again rest on love, patience, steadfast and hope.
  • As always I enjoyed this book by Ms. Jackson. I have read all of her work and loved them (especially them Westmoreland men whew!!). Ashley and Devon/Ray demonstrated the epitome of black love. So glad they found their way back to each other. Sat on the edge of my seat waiting for Ray to put the pieces of his memory back together. My only concern with this book was there was a lot of repetition and it took longer than I would have liked to get to the heart of the matter. Yet, I am still a Brenda Jackson fan.
  • I'm so glad that Devon/Ray and Ashley not only found each other again but fell madly in love once again. It was so hard emotionally for Ashley to get to know Devon as Ray while allowing him time to adjust to wanting her in his life not knowing that she was his wife. I'm glad that Ashley had support from her friends Emmie, Suzanne and Kim and Ray's friends, Kaegan, Bryce, Sawyer, and Vashti. I know Ashley felt like she was suffocating everytime that she had to deal with her overbearing mother, Imogene and her father Samuel who just let her mom do whatever. I'm glad that Devon/Ray got his memory back and him and Ashley are starting on expanding their family. I can't wait to read Kaegan and Bryce's story next.
  • Ashley has been in morning since the death of her husband 3 years ago. She is determine to relax and find peace about the loss of her husband. Only to have an unfortunate incident land her in the arms of Ray who also happens to be Devon Ashley's decreased husband. Ray has no idea who she is because he lost his memory after an accident 3 years ago. With the help of his friends she sets out to make Ray fall in love again with her before the summer is over. As always Mrs. Jackson does it again with another great story. I can't wait for the next installment of Catalina Cove.
