In a world where almost everyone has a superpower, Sam Archer finds himself with one of the most useless abilities of all - immortality. Sure, he can't die, but he sure as hell can't fight back either. If anything, the incapacity to die has turned out to be a hassle for Sam, with ridiculous requests for obnoxious favors being a primary concern. However, his coworker Lily Dodson is about to make his life a lot more interesting with her unique proposal.

Warning This book contains adult content that may not be suitable for all audiences, including suggestive adult scenes, slight harem elements, consensual sexual aggression on a male character by a female (slight BDSM elements), graphic violence, talk about self-harming behavior, and alcohol consumption/drug use. However, this book does not contain overly vulgar language, and it has parts you may find wholesome.

"I bought this book because the cover was excellent and, for once, I wasn't disappointed. This is a book that does almost everything right.

The first half of the book is a slice of life, but after that plot and action scenes kick in. Characters have their own personality instead of being carbon copies/flanderizations, and they either have interesting superpowers or interesting quirks on common superpowers - like a vampire that actually causes a lot of pain while feeding and looks horrifying - and unique ways to handle those quirks - such as everyday clothing designed using special materials to handle high temperatures and a workspace adapted to it.

Even more important - to me at least - the romance didn't make me cringe. Most self published authors suffer from a problem with dialog between the MC and their romantic interests that makes it sound extremely corny, or fake (why would a woman want to share her boyfriend with someone she just met?). This is not a problem here. Dialogs between Sam/Lily and Sam/Freya were good and I could believe the two women had a good reason for being ok with sharing.

The plot was something I've read in other books, but was still interesting enough on this one to want me to keep reading. Just be advised that it does include some elements of horror and tragedy.

So why "almost" everything right? Because like many self published books it has some problems with grammar. Still, if you are used to reading other self published authors, it won't be a problem.

So, if you are a fan of strong male MCs that are not wimps and multiple beautiful romantic interests, I recommend buying this book. You won't be disappointed."

  • Absolutely loved it!

We follow Sam as he goes about his life as an immortal. We see him develop a relationship with two women who have powers that prevent them from being intimate with others due to how destructive they are.

The story mainly follows how his relationships develop over time with his girlfriends. At around the 50% mark, give or take 10%, we start to see more about his powers and the past that haunts him and how it connects to the present day.

I felt that the interactions between the characters feel genuine and not forced at all. It was refreshing seeing the care that they have for each other. Their flaws only draw them closer together and reinforce their bonds.

I look forward to how this story will progress.
  • Immortal man gets routinely assaulted, both physically and sexually, against his will, but it’s somehow okay because she is pretty.
  • I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. Very few grammar errors and good word flow made this a quick and easy read. The romance was very well done and I actually liked the harem aspect of the story. It didn't feel tacked on just to add spice to the story and on that topic the intimate encounters weren't gratuitous or vulgar. I genuinely liked the main characters and the world built around them. Hopefully the author will expand upon the world and how superpowers fit into it in the next book which I will definitely be getting. I would recommend this book to anybody that likes romance, super heroes, good characters, or a different take on the hero genre.
  • I'm no prude and wish fulfillment is a big reason I love reading, but this one just doesn't have anything else. At times it's almost preachy with the basic messages of how relationships work. The dialogue is frequently repetitive. The narrator is both a single individual, but evidently omniscient with how much he is able to assign motivations and mental states to other people with no input from them. Vaguely salacious with no actual sensuality. Honestly, should be way more polished.
  • It started out... alright, but got soooo cringy after the vamp chick was introduced. I thought we were gonna see inventive ways of fighting or living as an immortal, but nah, he just randomly gets op af out of nowhere. And then gets a three-way relationship with two of the "hottest women ever" and they fall in love with him because he's the only he who can bone them without dieing.
  • The book is almost entirely focused on relationship development. It introduces a story outside of that later on, but it kind of feels like an after thought. There are other things related to character personal revelations as well that seem a bit like after thoughts more than planned aspects that also added to my mehh feelings about the book. That all said, the writing was mostly not bad and honestly a good part of my lack of interest in anymore from it is probably due more to a lack on consitencies with the characters views and my own than the actual quality of the book. I honestly tend to be on the self indulgent side when looking for books and given that probably won't read anything else by this author since it seems his views, interested, and moral foundation are pretty different from my own.
  • A drastic change from the 5 star superhero novels I have tried to read before, he focuses more on the individual characters and their interactions and relationships then the superhero powers and fighting which makes for a very interesting story and enjoyable read. Please keep up the great writing style you are using and hurry up with the next one please.
