#Moonstruck A #Lovestruck Novel Sariah Wilson Books Reviews
- Less than 24 hours after ripping open the package containing this book, I sit here wanting nothing more than to read it again!
This is the second book in the #Lovestruck series. #Moonstruck is a companion novel to #Starstruck. They take place in the same world with a brief cameo of our favorite celebrity couple. As with all of Sariah Wilson's books, #Moonstruck is written from the perspective of the female lead- Maisy. She is a musician. She lives with her three brothers who are also her band mates. Because of experiences in her life she has rules and #1 is never date a musician. Enter the rock/pop star Ryan De Luna. Maisy makes a lasting impression on Ryan the first time they meet and the story that follows is a page turning love story that will leave you #Moonstruck.
I have read all but 3 of Sariah Wilson's books. I feel I have become familiar with her writing style. I love her books. I have recommended them to many friends, own hard copies, kindle copies, and audiobook copies for the Royal series and the #Lovestruck series books. So when I say you won't be disappointed I mean it. When I read a romance book, I generally know what I am getting. I am generally pretty good at predicting when the twist is going to come. What I love about Sariah Wilson's book are that the twists aren't curveballs out of nowhere. Each book I've read has a curveball thrown at the couple but each curveball is realistic and fits the personality of the characters. Wilson establishes believable personal obstacles or flaws for the male and female lead characters to overcome. #Moonstruck follows this recipe of success for Wilson. I knew the curveball was coming but I could not have guessed what it was going to be.
With each of her books, Sariah Wilson creates a relatable female lead. I have had severe moments of self-doubt like Kat (Royals of Monterra #1), trust issues like Zoey (#Starstruck), and have let hurt from someone else color thoughts about others like Maisy. When I read a Sariah Wilson book I know the ending will be great, I know the material will be steamy but clean, and I know I will be thinking about how I've handled similar situation in my life.
The one critique I have- the ending just kinda... ended. #Moonstruck has a good ending but I wanted more. I wanted the closer I got from #Starstruck. I know the books can't have the same endings, but **SPOILER** the curveball thrown at Maisy and Ryan had just been resolved and then it was the end. It leaves me with questions like did the song "Maisy" win any awards? Did the band, Yesterday, find success?
I look forward to #Awestruck coming out this winter. Sariah Wilson is one of my favorite authors. I have two young daughters and I can't wait until I can share these books with them. For now I will share them with my book loving friends and family members. #174daysuntil#Awestruckisreleased. - She's done it again. I seriously don't think Sariah could write a book I won't love.
If you haven't already read all of her books, do that right now. seriously! I stopped the book I was in the middle of simply because my pre-ordered copy of this showed up on my early. Read in a day!
I looooove their sweet and sensual romance. It's so refreshing to read a romance that's super heavy on the sexual tension and flirtation without being super sexually graphic. Honestly, I get way more out of a romance that draws out the suspense and the tension until you're as tense as the characters.
I always love the depth of her characters, and these were no different. Ryan and Maddie were so well-drawn with their pasts and their present issues. I loved their paths to each other.
My one question by the end was about Diego. Why was he so mad at Maddie? Why was he rude to her after being so nice to her originally? Was he jealous?
But even with that question, the book is amazing! I can't WAIT for the next! - I couldn’t stop reading this book!
I’m currently suffering from a bad cold and chronic back pain aggravated by taking care of my 5 month old, 15 pound, amazing granddaughter, with a cold and all the “carry me†clingyness that goes with it.
This story kept me up when I needed sleep because I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next and if what I previously read worked out. Maisey’s character was extremely complex and very well written. Watching her growth throughout the story, as a musician, the daughter of a mother with special needs and a girlfriend was so much fun. Well maybe, except for the part where she freaks out and takes off, that part almost gave me heart failure! - Thoughts I’m simply amazed by this authors talent! I originally noticed her books as an ad that popped up on my kindle….normally, I ignore those, but something that day made me click on it. I decided to take a chance and grabbed book one, Starstruck – and fell in love. I loved the authors writing style and immediately requested Moonstruck (book two) from Netgalley. I was even more amazed by this author. Her storylines are interesting, her characters are down-to-earth and brutally honest, and the romance is enough to send your heart all aflutter. Rock star romances are usually just okay for me, but this author has a knack for it. In just two books I’m already a one-click fan, and have pre-ordered book three, Awestruck, due out in 2019.
Moonstruck has a lot of social media ‘tweets’ between the characters, and I was a bit worried about the author pulling that off….but I have to say, she did a hell of a job. It actually became an anticipated part of the story that added to the reading experience. I honestly can’t think of a single negative thing to say about this book. And not only was the book good, but it’s one of those that sticks out in your mind after the fact. It’s also one of the ones I am sure I will re-read many times over the years.
Let’s just say, I have found another favorite author to add to my list!
This one, fellow readers, is a must read – and it will definitely hit my list of favorite books for 2018.
